My Apologies + UPDATE

Wow I feel bad that I have abandened you all. It's been over a month since I wrote. July was an extremely busy month for me. Work Work Work! I worked 364 hrs in one month. I found out there are only 720 hrs in a month. So you all say. Well you must be rolling in the dough. Not really. First of all Uncle Sam killed me with taxes. Then I got a new car and wow the insurance is crazy expensive and I have a perfect driving record. But even with uncle sam trying to brake me I did have enough for a new PDA. The Siemens SX66. I love it. I am finally more organized and not missing appointments. I also set it up so I know A, B, and C Shifts. The best part though is that it isn't just my PDA it is also my PHONE! Two birds with one stone.

Now we have all kinds of new people at the company. Some decent good guys. But wow we hired a whole lot of a$$holes. (Check back for detailed stories of the a$$holes) Now you would not believe the squad situation. We have 4 squads. Rescue 3 went down completely mid July. Chief complaint : cracked engine block. Plus a boatload of other things. Rescue 9 went down over the last two days. Chief complaint : too many things to fix. Over 7,000.00 dollars in repairs needed before it can go back on the road. Which leave us with Rescue 6. (my favorite) The one with the least problems and best siren. Then there is Rescue 2. Runs good but has a heating/AC problem. It has been extremely hot and humid up here over the summer. Rescue 2 has no AC front or back. Now front isn't a huge issue because we got windows. But the back has one itty bitty window that doesn't really do anything. So you;ve got your partner and the patient sweating during transport. And I tried to get these people I work with to understand that you cannot have a cardiac patient in that squad. If we get an emergency call for CHF we are in crazy trouble. Now here is a quote from one of the a$$hole's regarding the situation. " Oh well, if they're back there they are probably ready to die anyway." Sigh. It's the a$$holes that make me hate my job. - Jessiye 11:4

Been there, done that. I know how you feel. Sometimes it isnt worth working OT because you end up bring home less in the end.
